Chris Mei began his public speaking life in 1998 when he was hired to act as the MC at the bar where he worked.

That began a nearly 20-year odyssey of stage work, broadcasting and comedy. Chris worked for 4 years on board cruise ships hosting literally thousands of events.

Chris also attended the Second City Comedy Improv School in Toronto, then formed a comedy troupe that toured for five years.

He has spent thbilly-madison-penguin1-238x300e last decade on national TV as one of Canada’s most loved weather broadcasters and has continued his work as a Master of Ceremonies, sharing the stage with comedians like Colin Mochrie, Eugene Levy, Dave Thomas and more,

He is also known world-wide for playing the Penguin in the Adam Sandler comedy Billy Madison.

Chris talks to Cindy and Jason about what makes a good Master of Ceremonies and how he was influenced by singers such as David Bowie and Bono. He reminisces about Adam Sandler and Chris Farley and tells a hilarious never-been-told story from the set of the film.

  1. I respected Chris’ honesty in describing the challenges that are inherent in delivering speaking events to business audiences, i.e. the difficulty in ‘corralling them in’ to start one’s presentation on time.
